Tribute to Kalam
Prez polls are over. The sequence of events needs no elaboration. As Dr.Kalam demits the office , he leaves behind him a rich tradition
which his successor would find hard to compete with. At the least we hope they would follow his principle of acting independently
despite the pressures & resisting personal urge.
Five years back the whole nation woke up delightedly to see Dr.Kalam's name flash as candidature for presidency. From his relatively ascetic
abode at Anna University , he set himself to don the new role. For all the great accomplishments of this revered man what stands out is his
humbleness and simplicity. He is hardly comfortable in limelight but has never shy'd away from responsibility.
As Dr.Kalam steps down as President of India , all citizens of India - Home & Abroad give him a standing ovation for
rekindling in their hearts the true spirit of nationalism. There is confirmation in media about he returning to teach at Anna university,
Nalanda & Gandhigram University. Probably the only ever president to continue his life as simple as ever, nevertheless with powerful ideas for youth.
To media he replied "I came with 2 suitcases & returning with same two" speaks volumes of this simple yet powerful human side.
